Dang Good Apology For a White Male Republican!
"I am deeply embarrassed... It was poor judgement on my part and was never intended to be offensive to Ms. Price, your company or anyone in the African American Community.... You can be assured that I will not allow this to happen again. I in no way was representing the City of Los Alamitos, or my role as a council member in sending this out and it went via my private business email. That doesn't justify the fact that it was sent, however, we gratefully appreciate the contributions that your company makes to our community and I wish to publically apologize to anyone within the firm or organization that may have been offended."
My wife and I sat and tried to think of a stereotypical sexist job for 4 powerful, and accomplished men, to match the one U.S. News picked for the 4 powerful, and accomplished women, and drew a blank.
What sexist male jobs are there, cowboy, NASCAR pit crew, bouncer? None match the choices for female stereotypes, so I had to go with a "dirty job" one that may seem "demeaning" for, you know, Republicans. (but just as important in the scheme of things)
Leonard Pitts assailed Rush Limbaugh for saying that he hoped Barack Obama would fail. After eight years of watching and listening to Democrats actively work to the same end during the Bush presidency, I would ask what's wrong with what he said?
The 46 percent of Americans who voted against President Obama have been listening to what he intends to do for over two years now.
We don't want more government. We don't want more taxes. We don't want to lose the war against radical Islamic fundamentalism. We don't think that strengthening unions will help better educate our children or lower prices we pay for goods. We don't want to have to include Uncle Sam in conversations with our doctor. Like Limbaugh, we have heard what he wants to do and we want him to fail. Get over it.

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."
-- Theodore Roosevelt
